James J. Hanratty, DDS

After graduating from Texas A & M University with a degree in Biology, Dr. Hanratty received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1983. In 1988, he obtained his certificate in Periodontics at the Tufts School of Dental Medicine. In addition, he completed a certificate in Implantology at the Branemark Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.

Dr. Hanratty is a former Assistant Clinical Instructor at Tufts University, and he is currently a visiting lecturer in Periodontology and Implantology at Tufts University and Harvard University. His private practice focus is on Implants and Soft Tissue Grafting. His professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the North Shore District Dental Society, of which he is a past president. Dr. Hanratty has lectured extensively throughout the USA and Europe on Periodontology and Implantology, and has written a chapter in the textbook: Periodontal Therapy, Clinical Approaches and Evidence of Success. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

When not at the office, Dr. Hanratty prefers to spend time with his wife Linda, and their three kids Ryan, Alli, and Meagan. A resident of Marblehead, Dr. Hanratty has interests in all outdoor activities, particularly biking and boating.
